[edit] Background Story
Living a life serving the Church, he/she sets out to join the adventurers recruited by King Tristan 3rd, in hope of finding new powers from within him/herself.
Acolytes are basically God's Servants. They use their knowledge of the magical arts in order to do God's Will. In Ragnarok Online, Acolytes are a character class that specializes in healing and making others stronger via support spells. Typically, they are not known for being excellent in battle, except when confronted with hordes of the undead, which they dispose of much quicker than other character classes.
Acolytes are usually a heavy support class for their basic abilities in strengthening stats and having a fundamental skill to defend guild castles during war time that their succeeding classes utilize.
The place where players could change their job to an Acolyte is located in the Capital City of Prontera. Before he/she becomes Acolyte, the player must pass many obstacles to visit one person of three, in order to develop patience and faith. After completion of the test, the player becomes an Acolyte.

 Aqua Benedicta | Active | 1 | Create Holy Water when character is standing in normal water. |
 Signum Crucis | Active | 10 | Decrease the Defense of Undead and Shadow property monsters. |
 Angelus | Active | 10 | Increase the Defense rate of the caster and all of the caster`s party members. |
 Blessing | Active | 10 | Temporarily increase target`s STR, INT, and DEX for the skill`s duration. |
 Cure | Active | 1 | Removes the Cursed, Silence, Chaos and Blind statuses. |

| Str | Somewhat necessary for a Swordsman, not at all for a Acolyte |
| Agi | As with the defensive stats (AGI & VIT), it is up to personal preferance. Agility helps avoid attacks and may be more useful to the weaker Acolyte. |
| Vit | As with defensive stats (AGI & VIT), it is up to personal preferance. |
| Int | Intelligence is a must for magic-classes such as the Acolyte and the Mage. It is even more so if you plan to become a Priest, as it helps increase the effect of skills/spells as well as the amount of SP the character has available. |
| Dex | Useful, as it both decreases casting time and helps with Hit. Whether you plan to be a Monk or a Priest, dexterity helps. |
| Luk | Fairly useless |

Force
Once you attain the proper level, you can change from Novice to the Acolyte Class by finding the Job Master located at Prontera (153,193).

Acolyte Job Quest
Simply talk to Father Mareusis to signup for the acolyte quest. He will ask you to either visit Father Rubalkabara, Mother Marthilda, or Father Yosuke. Once you speak to the designated NPC, go back to Father Mareusis and he will change you to an acolyte
