Adoption
From DarkRO
Do you and your marriage partner feel as if you could get more out of your marriage? Well, now you can! With the Adoption system, you and your partner can choose to adopt another person from the community to make a one happy family.
How to do it? Easy, all you have to do is have a Level 1/1 Novice ready to be adopted. Once you're all prepared, all of you must consult the Adoption Agency. The Adoption Agency is located in Prontera's Church, near the side of the marriage altar. In DarkRO Force, another Adoption Agency is located in Lutie. The Adoption Agency in Lutie is located near the church, which is on the upper left corner of the map. Once you've consulted the Adoption Agency, the family will be required to follow very simple steps that the Adoption Agency asks you to perform. After you've done all of them, you'll have a complete family, including a newly adopted child!
Please note that adopting a child can only happen once for each character, not marriage. So if one was previously married and adopted a baby, that person cannot adopt a second time if he/she were to marry someone else after a divorce.
[edit] Effects of Adoption
What happens to the adopted child? Well, the adopted child's sprite becomes shorter/smaller than the average size of a player. Also, adopted children cannot change into a transcendent class. The maximum class an adopted child can reach is a second job class. Some say that being an adopted child also changes the player's size type (Medium to Small).
Adopted children, also know as Baby classes, have a limited amount of stats. Each of their corresponding stats can only reach 150 in DarkRO Force, and 80 in DarkRO Pie. They also receive two essential skills after the adoption:
| Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Mom, Dad, I love you! | Caster's parent characters will not lose any experience points when they die. |
| Mom, Dad, I miss you! (Call Parents) | Child character summons parents to a spot next to where child is standing. |
Lastly, the child and his parents can also form a party that can be even shared, regardless of their levels.
