Archer Leveling
From DarkRO

[edit] Pie
Firstly, your Novice should have started with 9 Agi, 9 Dex, and 9 Int. It is also possible to start with 9 Str instead of Int, for Arrow Carrying purposes, however it works best Leveling as the Agi (Hunter) build.
And be SURE to go through the Novice Training Grounds when you start off. Not only does it make future leveling easy but it also starts you off with some nice weapons.
The recommended skill builds will be the same regardless of if you are attempting to become a Bard/Dancer or a Hunter. The Stat build, however, will be slightly different.
[edit] Job Change
So you want to become an Archer, eh? A powerful class, masters of Range and Targeting, albeit very frail. As such an Archer must be the first one to strike when in combat. However striking first is not the only the important trait of an Archer. Their ability to use every element to their advantage is their other. If you target a Water based monster with Crystal Arrows, they will die far slower than if you attacked with Wind Arrows. As such, an Archer must know his/her target very well to kill reliably. So as an Archer you must be able to strike first, as well as know about your enemy before hand. You think you are up to the challenge?
As a Novice, who has reached Job 10, you must travel to Payon. From there you must head to the Archer Village (one map up). Once there you must find the Archer Guild and request the Job test to become an Archer. Or if you are extraordinarily lazy, @warp to this location: payon_in02 64 71
You will be required to collect a total of 25 "points" by turning in Trunks found from the monster Willow. Any Trunk will do, though some give more point values than others. Willows can be found easiest one map down and one map right from the Archer Village. (pay_fild08)
This is where your starting stats will make a big difference in how easy this is.
- If you went the Int route, use any Novice Potions you have left from the Novice Training Grounds and focus only on killing Willows. There are no aggressive monsters so you won't have to worry much.
- If you went the Str route, this will be much easier as you will have some damaging power behind your hits. Use any Novice Potions left over if you need them.
Use any stat points on Dex when you level.
- Be sure to keep atleast ONE Red Potion from the Novice Training Grounds. You will need it later.
(If you don't feel like worrying about how many points you have, just be sure to have at a minimum 25 Trunks total [meaning Fine Grained, Solid, Barren, and normal])
You will be awarded with a Bow and some Arrows.
[edit] Job 1 to Job 14
Return to the Willow map you were at before. Target anything that isn't a Spore. Your first three job points should go to Owl's Eye, unlocking Vulture's Eye. From then until Job 14, place all Job points into Vulture's Eye. Once you have enough range you can attempt to kill Spores. It will be good practice. Archers need their Distance most importantly, and this is why Vulture's Eye is being maxed first.
RESIST THE URGE TO PUT POINTS INTO IMPROVE CONCENTRATION
- Hold onto 20 Resin, 13 (normal) Trunks, and 7 Mushroom Spores. You will need them later along with the Potion.
[edit] Job 15 to Job 30
Time to test your mettle. Head back to the Archer Village, and sell any loot to the NPC near Payon Cave (Except what was mentioned above) and buy a fair amount of Silver Arrows. Head out and into Payon Cave (be sure to have the Silver Arrows EQUIPED [Alt+Q, and drag the Arrows from your inventory to the middle of the Equipment Window])
These monsters are a fair bit stronger than the Willows, but if you took out Spores before you should be okay here. The aggressive monsters here are Familiars (the Bats), and Zombies. I suggest targeting Skeletons first, Familiars second, and Zombies if they are heading towards you.
Spend all your Job points on Double Strafe all the way to Job 24, and after that focus on Improve Concentration to Job 30. Once you have at least level 5 Double Strafe, anything is a target, so go wild in there.
You will however notice that Double Strafe sucks up your SP rather quickly, if you have any left over, get yourself ~30 Int. It's beneficial to both 2nd class choices be it Hunter or Bard/Dancer.
- This is where starting on the Int route makes things easier because you won't have "wasted" stat points.
If things seem to start slowing down, you can try Payon Dungeon level 2, the portal is at the bottom right of level one. But be warned that these monsters are a lot harder to kill, but give much better EXP. A Party and Potions would be recommended.
[edit] Job 30 Detour
That's right, a detour from leveling. Sounds crazy but trust me that it will make your life much simpler in the long run. However, you will likely need the help of a higher leveled player or a party to finish this, because you have to get yourself 41 Tough Scalelike Stems, which are only dropped by a monster that is aggressive, has 6000 HP, and has an elemental weakness that you cannot get yet. The Stem Worm.
- If you are going to try and do it solo the best map is mjolnir_12 because it is the only aggressive monster on the field.
- If you are asking someone else to get them for you then the fastest map (has the most Stem Worms) would be lhz_fild03.
Once you have the 41 Tough Scalelike Stems, take the 20 Resin, 13 (normal) Trunks, 7 Mushroom Spores, and 1 Red Potion out of where you stored them and head to Morocc. Head North West from the warp in (@go 1 or the Warp NPC) and look for an NPC named Roberto. Talk to him and you now should have the Skill Arrow Crafting. An invaluable skill for any Archer class.
After gaining the skill it is time to go and harvest some Crafting items. Warp to ein_fild07 and kill Red Mushrooms. They drop Red Bloods, which when used for Arrow Crafing produce a whopping 2000 Fire Arrows! Be careful of the Ungoliant though, it is the only Aggressive monster on that field but it is also a mini-mvp.
[edit] Job 31 to Job 41
After harvesting around 5 Red Bloods, create arrows from ONE and equip them.
And you are actually already on the suggested leveling grounds. Walk around (or warp) and target Flora, Geographers, Metalings, and even Poporings. Be careful though, Geographers can heal other monsters so be sure to kill Geographers first if you want to kill any other monster in the area. And if you see 2 Geographers near one another, just walk away.
If you are over 50% weight then do NOT use Double Strafe, and simply melee (click) monsters. Otherwise you will run out of SP really fast and be forced to sit for your SP after you go back under 50%.
As for Job points, focus on maxing Improve Concentration first, as it will greatly increase your damage. Followed by Owl's Eye up through Job 41.
- At this point you can change to your preferred 2nd Class.
- Hunter-to-be's should have a stat build where Dex is the highest, Agi and Int being second highest (Which ends up being higher depends on your build), with everything else very low or even 1.
- Bard/Dancer-to-be's should also have a stat build where Dex is the highest stat, however from there it is up to you. If you are going to be a Song/Dance build then Int would likely be preferred. However if you are going pure damage then Vit could be your best bet.
[edit] Job 41 to Job 50
This is only for you hardcore levelers. And if you followed this guide, this is purely to get the skill Arrow Shower. There are two options for you that both involve using Fire Element to it's best.
- lou_fild01 (Mi Gao/Increase Soil)
- ayo_fild02 (Leaf Cat)
Both are incredibly weak to Fire and are common leveling sites. Leaf Cats give very little Base EXP but a lot of Job EXP, but have very little HP. Mi Gao on the other hand give a much greater amount of Base EXP as well as Job EXP, but have 8000 HP and hit for near 600 damage.
Your choice as to how far you level your Job and which place you choose to level. Here are Pros and Cons of each map:
ayo_fild02
- Pros:
- Easier kills
- Farmable SP items (Lemons)
- Pretty good loot
- Cons:
- Wootan Fighters are immune to Fire attacks
- Beetle Kings can raise their defense extremely high
- Leaf Cats can heal each other and themselves
lou_fild01
- Pros:
- Higher EXP gain
- Chance to gain Gold
- Mantis drops Green Lives (used for Earth Arrows)
- Mi Gao drops Great Natures (used for Earth Arrows as well as good NPC vending)
- Only 1 aggressive monster
- Cons:
- Harder enemies to kill
- Regular loot isn't very profitable
- Easily mobbed by Mantii
- Incredibly farmed, so it's hard to find Mi Gaos at times.
- Mi Gaos hit HARD
[edit] Force
Firstly, your Novice should have started with +9 Dex, and +9 Luk. I recommend prt_fild08 for a Novice to kill a Poring Monster. Just kill one Poring, Fabre or Lunatic your base level will be in 17-24 and your job level will be 9.
[edit] Job Change
So ready to change your Novice into Archer? There is Job changer NPC at @go 0 left side after you warped @go 0. Now your an Archer, in Force, it works best for Archer if your leveling stats are in dex and luk if only if you have a Doppelganger Card in your Bow. This is so you don't have to put any agi in your stats because your attack speed (aspd) will be 197 if Doppelganger Card is equipped with your bow. If you don't have Doppelganger card to increase your attack speed (aspd) i suggest your stats to be Dex and Agi type. Base on my experience a first job character level up fast from base level 20 to base level 255 it will take 30-60 minutes. In the listed equips requirements if you don't have some of the items just try to get some important card's like Doppelganger Card, Tao Gunka Card or Ghostring Card, and Turtle General Card.
[edit] Items Requirements
Don't forget to bring some White Potion, Awakening Potion and lots of Silver Arrows.

[edit] Leveling your Archer
As you notice some of equips you can't put it on, don't worry in force we can level up fast. So we use a +10Composite Bow[4] if you don't have one yet you can go at shopping mall its only 5m to 10m each. If you want your leveling fast i recommend to be an Archer until you reach 255, trust me ill teach you the place where you can level up fast.
Warp to this map pay_dun00, kill a monster Familiar, Zombie, Skeleton and Poporing. Once you level up, you have to focus in your Dex first, make sure your Dex become 120 before you add your Luk. In your skill, add Owl's Eye, unlocking Vulture's Eye. Stay on that place until you reach base 40.
Don't forget to use @pk if your base level is 70.
If you are in base level 40 i suggest you to warp at gl_prison, remember you have to keep distance if you attack a monster at gl_prison because you don't have enough life to fight them face to face. Stay there until you reach base level 110. if your already reach 120 Dex, the remaining status point put it in your Luk until you reach Critical 70 then add your Dex until your reach 255. Then the remaining status points put it in your vit.
So your base level is 110 warp at @go 20. Then buy a Level Dungeon Permit cost you only 1m, he is in the upper left side 10 cells away from your warped area. If you already have a Permit use this warp command @warp lvl_dun1, lvl_dun2, lvl_dun3, you will go at lvl_dun3 so you much type @warp lvl_dun3.
[edit] Leveling at lvl_dun3
First, you have to remember that your only 110 base level and don't have enough life to face the attack of some monsters out there. I suggest you to attack in distance. Don't attack Cecil Damon because she attack in distance. If you attack Kathryne Keyron, use your accessory with Hydro Card on it, because there is a chance to auto cast Spell Breaker. Kathryne Keyron attack only in magic and are easy to kill than the other monsters. Another tip put the warp command in your alt+m so you can easily yeleport if you have many lot of monster enemy. Be patient if you die, if you died go back and kill some monsters as many as you can.
You will notice that you are leveling fast. If your goal is to be an Sniper, Gypsy or Clown, change you job after you reach 250 base level because its only 5 level up remaining and it will take you only 5 to 10 minutes to be 255 base level.
