Paladin's are much like the Crusader only with HP/SP bonuses so they become a lot more dangerous. Grand Cross becomes a lot more deadly since you can fire off more than you ever could as a Crusader and live through them a lot more. New attacks like Shield chain, Gospel, Sacrifice and Pressure will make you try many new builds to completely surprise enemies! Be warned it takes a lot of time and reseach to build a good Paladin. So don't get discouraged, just keep changing and adjusting.

[edit] Notes on Paladins
As noted equips are what you need. Without them you are useless. Its common for paladins to carry over 4 armors, 2 weapons and tons of potions. With peco ride you will be able to walk at a good rate and carry more items. Blue potions are your best friends. Make sure to keep your HP high, if you are not vit based hit them fast and hard enough to kill them in 2 shots or less. Remember paladins are like tanks with a natural defense. As long as you play your paladin right you will always have a good shot at winnning. Good luck out there!
